Neighbourhood tool-share app Report v2

“What if neighbours could lend out the drill and the ladder they use twice a year, and the app handled who has what…”

Summary

Demand is real but thin per neighbourhood; the hard part is trust and retrieval, not matching.

Findings

  • Roughly a third of power tools bought are used once or twice. Consumer durables survey · retrieved 14 Jul 2026
  • Lending platforms lose most items to non-return in year one. Tool-library operators report · retrieved 21 Jul 2026
  • Insurance appetite for peer-to-peer tool lending. No source found — stated, not guessed

From a spoken thought to something you can act on

Three steps, and you only type if you want to fix a word.

  1. Talk it through

Hold the button and say the idea the way you'd say it to a friend. Come back and add more to the same draft whenever the next piece arrives.

  2. Read it back, then send it

You see the transcript before anything is analysed, so you can fix a name or trim a tangent. Confirm it and the run starts on our servers — close the app if you like.

  3. Follow the thread that matters

The report ends with the directions worth taking next. Pick one and get a focused analysis of just that branch, or ask for a summary of the whole tree.

Every claim shows where it came from

The analysis reads the web for you and attaches the source to each finding. When it can't find one, it says so instead of sounding sure.

  • A source per finding. Each claim carries the page it came from and the day it was read, so you can check it yourself.
  • Gaps are named, not filled. If nothing credible turned up for a claim, the report says no source was found rather than inventing one.
  • Nothing gets overwritten. Every run is kept as its own version, so you can go back to what the analysis said last week and compare.
  • Turn a finding into a next step. Send any point from a report to your to-do board with a date, and open it again later with the report it came from.
One idea, two levels deep

Deep-dives stop at two levels, so a thread stays something you can hold in your head.

Built for the messy middle of an idea

The part after the spark and before the spreadsheet.

Talk, don't type

Say the idea while you still have it. A draft transcript is ready to confirm in seconds, and you can add another burst of thinking to the same draft later.

Cited, not confident

Every finding names the source it came from — and plainly states when no source was found. You get something you can check, not a chatbot's assurance.

Go deeper where it counts

Any suggested direction can become its own focused analysis, so you spend the effort on the branch that looks real instead of re-reading the whole idea.

Close the app, keep working

Analysis runs on our servers. Put the phone away and get a notification when the report is ready to read.

Your thinking, kept in order

Reports and drafts live in one list, each version saved, so last month's take on an idea is still there when you want to argue with it.

From insight to a dated task

Pick the points worth doing, give them a date, and they sit on a simple board that remembers which report each one came from.

Try it before you pay for it

One run is one analysis, one deep-dive, or one whole-tree summary. A run that fails is refunded automatically — you're only charged for work that finished.

Start with 4 free runs

Free

A one-time grant when you create your account. Enough to take one idea through an analysis and a couple of deep-dives, with no card on file.

Then top up when you need more

  • 25 runs$9.99
  • 80 runs$27.99
  • 200 runs$69.99

Packs are the same runs as the free ones — more of them, nothing unlocked. No subscription in the first release. These are the launch prices we're planning; nothing is for sale on this page yet.
